So we went out for Black Friday and were just poking around when I saw these at Pottery Barn ...
I said to Boo, "Wow! That is my kind of Advent Calendar. You do a shot a day until Christmas!" To which he replied, "Um babe, your heritage is showing ... those are for votives."

On the other hand, it could be very helpful for the holiday gift swap. Everybody has a numbered glass, and that gives the order for gifting-grabbing. You just have to warn people to really hang onto their glass - and maybe in some way guarantee randomness, or do you reward the first arrival with #1?
I like the shots better than votives. Candles can be icky-stinky.
